This is a model of the Thresher, a submarine which sunk many years ago in the Atlantic Ocean. Mrs. Abrams, who lost her husband in this accident, commissioned me to this work.

For this work, I chose a dark basalt that would hone to the right color and texture. Mrs. Abrams had provided a smaller model to me that I carefully measured. On a drawing I recalculated all dimensions to fit the 4 ft. long stone that I had purchased. I then worked off this drawing.

The sculpture is now placed in Mrs. Abrams garden.
